What does this means to existing or newbie PM’s ?

This has always been the case and PM’s are expected to be more close to the market.

If you are administering a product and building one, the expectation is that you(the best person) must also have the skills to sell it.

What does it take to sell the product?

1. Devise your Go to market strategy
2. Work with early adopters
3. Get feedback
4. Market it (Product Marketing Manager PMM functions job mapping)
5. Make a direct impact on Topline

The expectation now is for every PM to be able to move from Inbound to Outbound PM functions.
