A few things a Product Manager must do apart from his/her daily routine:
1. Discuss ideas with leaders, decision-makers, fellow PM’s and get critical feedback.
There will be resistance, but that’s not the end of the world
2. Read read and read - Follow Industry leaders and see what they are eyeing for the future and build your perspectives
3. Spend time with customers - they always have a different view
4. Speak/learn these three languages - Strategical, Tactical, and Operational.
Use it based on the audience
5. Participate in Hackathons - work with Developers, Designers, Organizers
6. Keep attending product workshops, festivals, boot camps, different companies yearly conclaves, etc
7. Use different models when working on different features - keeps you interested and motivated
8. Don’t just run behind KPI’s but look for real business value
9. Be vulnerable - not everybody knows everything.
But don’t stop working on next-generation products.
Remember Amazon was never meant to sell anything beyond books, Netflix was a DVD company
10. That bug in your brain may be the next billion-dollar idea - keep working on it
